Reiki – the secret to happiness
There is a Reiki class taking place this coming weekend.

It is almost the end of 2012 and we need to get ready, centred, focused, and connected with others around the world who are setting their intentions on peace and healing. You may have seen reports of planetary alignments due to occur in December 2012, much of which is erroneous. However, when the Sun arrives in Capricorn on the 21st December this year, there will be a little asteroid called Juno waiting for it on the Northern Hemisphere winter solstice point.
What does this Sun-Juno conjunction mean for us, and why do I consider it to be worthy of organising a Reiki class as close as possible to this event?
Let us look at the symbolism of the two bodies involved:
● Discovered in 1804, Juno is an asteroid normally associated with our closest meaningful relationship, eg marriage.
● The Sun is our most vivid symbol for self.
The point where these two bodies conjoin is the first degree of Capricorn, or the winter solstice point, which is part of the cardinal cross – in other words there is an energetic flow with the other three cardinal points, which have the following symbolism:
● the first degree of Aries, the spring equinox, relates to your sense of self
● the first degree of Cancer, the summer solstice, relates to your home and family
● the first degree of Libra, the Autumn equinox, relates to your significant partnerships with others.
● the first degree of Capricorn, the winter solstice, relates to your career or public image
Four important points in our lives, therefore the Sun-Juno conjunction so prominent in December can be seen as a kind of alchemical union with yourself – which is the basis of all of the bonds and associations we form with others in the different spheres of our lives.
We really do need to get right with ourselves before we can be right with anyone else. We need to be in our relationships honestly admitting that we’re also working out an inner relationship, allowing enough flexibility to accommodate some self discovery. As we commit to making peace with ourselves, we can form relationships that nourish and respect this most basic journey of existence. Then as we allow our curiosity to be set free, we can explore the infinite mystery of the other from a grounded place of loving, a place of accepting and appreciating ourselves.
Reiki nurtures this process of self discovery and self acceptance.
As we begin to see and value the unique jewel that we hold within, and start to live from this place of authenticity, our close relationships, home and career relationships begin to flow in a completely new and synchronous way – we are being true to ourselves.
Mikao Usui, the founder of this wonderful healing method we call Reiki, entitled it ‘the secret to happiness’. He understood that the Reiki journey leads you to find a level of inner serenity, a stable base from which you can approach the storms that life brings. He was a man of great wisdom.
Give yourself the greatest gift this Christmas. Join our class, and allow Reiki to guide you in this process of unfolding, this flowering of your true self, which leads to living in a state of inner calm and tranquillity.
Perhaps you have already learned another system of Reiki, but find that it no longer serves you, or that there is something missing – you are ready to take another step on your journey. This class is open to you, and will offer you valuable insights and tools that will help you to grow personally and spiritually.
