Reiki Treatments
Reiki is the name given to a system of natural healing for body, mind, emotions and spirit, which was developed in Japan in the early 1900’s. The system I teach is Gendai Reiki Ho, and this system is based on the way that Reiki was taught by its founder, Mikao Usui.
The word ‘Reiki’ is pronounced ray-key, and is translated from Japanese as universal life energy.
Mikao Usui, the Founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho, called the treatment:
the way to health and happiness.
The treatment brings balance to mind, body, spirit and emotions, going to the root of any issue or condition. Reiki stimulates the body’s own natural healing process, and often generates a sense of wellbeing, balance and peace.
The treatment is usually received lying relaxed, fully clothed, on the massage table, but if this is not possible it may be received whilst sitting down. There is no massage or manipulation involved, rather a gentle laying-on of hands. A treatment usually lasts a little over 60 minutes.
You may receive a Reiki treatment whatever your age or physical condition, all age groups respond well … including pets.
Reiki may be received alongside allopathic medical care, or alongside other complementary therapies – and it can be particularly helpful with side effects from medication..
The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. Acute injuries may be helped to heal very quickly, however chronic illness may take longer. In cases of terminal illness there is usually great benefit through enhancement of the quality of life and a sense of peace and completeness.
You don’t need to be ill to come along, a Reiki treatment is a valuable way to maintain your good health, also a wonderful way to deal with the stresses and strains of our modern world.
